Our speaker for this special session will be our very own Vice-President, Dennis Bartkowiak. Dennis will be presenting the results of his recent visit to Chile where he searched for and found several meteorites.

Come to the combined club meeting of the Buffalo Astronomical Association and Penn Dixie to hear about Dennis Bartkowiak’s Meteorite Mission and life-changing experience.

On this summer’s trip to Chile, Dennis joined up with friend, enthusiast, meteorite hunter and private collector – Andrew Hartridge and the documentary reality television series “Meteorite Men” co-host and expert meteorite hunter – Steve Arnold.

Hear about this exciting adventure and how Dennis has become an international meteorite hunter, finder and astrophotographer. Experience some of the amazing parts of Chile as well as the nighttime southern sky in the Atacama Desert. See and hold some amazing finds. Everything about astronomy and the rocks is just amazing. Where they come from, how they get here, how they interact with the earth when they hit. The record of their journey and their effect on our planet is mesmerizing. You might even be enthralled by some scientific data, science of the site and discussion of our place in the universe.
